What are the Issues?

South Hadley will face challenges in the next three years and I want to help us meet them.

— We hired a new Town Administrator in 2010. I want to help the new Town Administrator to succeed.

— We have received two independent reports that recommend changes for our town government.

— In June of 2011, the state will decide about our application for a grant to build a new library.  If our application is approved, we will need to have an important discussion about how to afford our portion of the cost.

— We must continue to provide more and better information to residents. 

What are the opportunities?

In South Hadley Falls, the Canal Park project is proceeding and the Texon building will be demolished. We can revitalize the economy of South Hadley Falls. The independently elected Planning Board, with the involvement of citizens can address the issues of development and growth through the new Master Plan Process. Our new commuication vehicles can make government more open to the public. We have many residents who are willing and able to make South Hadley an even better place than it is already.
